The Florence Museum's Pee Dee Regional Art Competition is the longest running annual art competition in South Carolina. This juried competition promotes and encourages visual art and artists from twelve counties in the northeastern part of the state. Past winners include photographer Dinah Hall, sculptor Mike Fowle, mixed media artist Denise Greer and painter Jack Cayton. Prizes will be awarded to three place-winners and four honorable mentions, plus a People's Choice award decided on the night of the opening reception. This year's first place winner will receive a cash award of $600. Feury Fine Art Gallery-Framing will offer a Watercolor Class by Robert Feury beginning Monday, September 13th at 7pm at Black Creek Arts Center in Hartsville. The class will meet on Monday evenings from Sept. 13th -Oct. 4th from 7-9pm. This is a beginning class. Participants will be painting a barn from just outside of Hartsville. Cost for the class is $75. Bring supplies and materials that your are comfortable with.
